Sex offender monitoring is a recurring, paid watch. Instead of searching once, you set a monitor on a person or an address and it is checked every morning against continuously updated registry data — then emails you when a matching record is added, changes, or is removed.

How does sex offender monitoring work?
Set it once, and we do the checking. Each morning your watch is compared against our continuously updated data, and you hear from us only when a matching record is added, changes, or is removed — never a routine “nothing changed” email.
1. Set a watch
Two kinds. Watch a person by name and date of birth, or watch an area — an address and a radius, from a single street out to a whole town. Add whoever else should get the emails; a watch can notify more than just you.
2. We check it every morning
Each morning your watch is compared against our continuously updated data. Nothing for you to run and nothing to remember — the check happens whether or not you have thought about that person or that street in months.
3. You get an email when it changes
An alert tells you exactly what happened: a matching record was added, an existing one changed, or one was removed. Repeat alerts for the same unchanged record are de-duplicated, so an email always means something is different.

How do I get notified when an offender moves near me?
Set a location monitor: enter an address and a radius — from a single block to a whole town — and add whoever should get the emails. Your area is checked every morning against continuously updated registry data, and you get an email the moment a registered offender is added or moves within it. Area monitoring is $10 a month.
Is this a sex offender tracker?
In effect — but you do not do the tracking. Rather than tracking someone yourself, you set a watch on a person by name and date of birth, or on an area, and we track the registry for you and email you when a matching record is added, changes, or is removed. It is for personal awareness only, not for FCRA-governed decisions.
What is a monitor?

A person monitor watches one person by name and date of birth; a location monitor watches an address and a radius.
What does it cost?
Person monitoring is $3 a month per person; location monitoring is $10 a month per area. There is no setup fee and no contract — cancel a monitor whenever you like. If you monitor the same person in both criminal records and the sex offender registry, those are two separate monitors and are billed separately.
Can I monitor an area for criminal records too?
Not yet. Location monitoring covers sex offender registry data today — watch an address and be alerted when a registered offender moves nearby. Criminal-record monitoring is available for a person (by name and date of birth); criminal-record location monitoring is coming soon.
How do I set one up?
Two ways, on the same account. In the dashboard, open the Notifications section, add a person or an address, and choose who gets the emails. In code, POST /v1/monitors with the person or location you want to watch and the recipients — the full reference is in the monitoring docs.
How current is the data behind an alert?
The dataset is continuously updated, and every alert cites the record it fired on with a link to the official registry entry so you can confirm it at the source before acting. A monitor is evaluated once a day, so an alert reaches you the morning after a change appears in the data.
Can I use monitoring to screen an employee or a tenant?
No. This is not a consumer report, and it must not be used for FCRA-governed hiring, tenancy, or credit decisions. A monitor is an unattended alert for personal awareness and safety — not an adjudication, and not a substitute for the process the FCRA requires when you make one of those decisions.
