Offendersearch
Pricing

The best value in offender screening — by far.

Start free with 25 searches — no card, no sales call. Then pay only for what you use: $0.15 a call, dropping to $0.11 past 2,000 a month, with the continuously-updated dataset at the base rate. No setup fees, no per-seat licenses, no minimums, no contract. One call searches all 58 US registries.

Free trial
$0
25 searches · no card

Real data from all 58 registries, not a sandbox. Trial searches include a name and return up to 50 records each — same schema, scoring and provenance as a paid key.

Volume
$0.11
per call beyond 2,000 / month

Graduated automatically — your first 2,000 calls each month are $0.15, every call after is $0.11. In a batch, each search counts as one call.

Enterprise
Custom
volume, compliance & net terms

Custom rates below the published tiers, net-30/60 terms, a signed BAA, team workspaces and priority support — built around your procurement and compliance needs.

Every account includes

  • All 58 US registries in a single call
  • Scored matches with matchConfidence + matchBasis
  • Per-source provenance and citations on every result
  • Two modes per request — Regular (continuously updated) or Live re-verification
  • Synchronous for interactive checks; asynchronous and batch for bulk work
  • A no-code dashboard and a full REST API on the same account
  • Drop-in compatibility endpoint for an easy migration
  • A stored, exportable audit trail of every search

What you never pay for

  • No setup or onboarding fees
  • No per-seat or per-user licenses
  • No monthly minimum or platform fee
  • No annual contract to start
  • No feature gates — the free trial is the full API
  • No sales call before you can build

That is what “best value” means here — not a sticker price, but a bill with nothing on it you did not use.

Start free with 25 searches. Add billing (credit card or ACH) when you are ready to lift the trial limits — same key, same code.

Add-ons

Usage extras — on top of the per-call rate

Optional extras added to whatever per-call tier you’re on — not separate plans and not settings on your key. You choose them per request.

Live verification

+$0.02 / source$2.00 ceiling

A per-request choice, not a tier and not a key setting. Omit it and a search runs in Regular mode — the continuously-updated answer at the base rate. Send a live block and the API re-verifies the named jurisdictions in real time, at $0.02 per completed source, capped at $2.00 per search. A live check that fails is not billed, and a check of more than two sources runs asynchronously.

Verification report (PDF)

+$0.02 / document

A separate API call (POST /v1/report) that any key can make — no per-key entitlement — billed $0.02 per document. Pass the searchId of a search you already ran (within 7 days) for a branded, timestamped PDF of every match and field, with a source citation on every record. Admin-overridable per customer.

All rates are metered defaults; an admin can override any rate (base, volume, live per-source, per-PDF) per customer, and enterprise customers can negotiate custom pricing.

Monitoring & alerts

Recurring monitors — a monthly subscription

Separate from per-call search: a monitor is a standing watch that emails you when the data changes. No setup fee, no contract — cancel any monitor whenever you like.

Person monitoring
$3
per person · per month

Watch one person by name and date of birth across sex offender registry data or criminal records. A criminal person monitor and a sex offender person monitor on the same name are billed separately.

Manage monitors in the dashboard Notifications section or via POST /v1/monitors. Monitoring is not a consumer report and must not be used for FCRA-governed hiring, tenancy, or credit decisions. How monitoring works · Monitoring API.

Enterprise

Screening at volume, or with procurement in the room?

Enterprise plans add custom volume rates below the published tiers, custom net terms (net-30, net-60 or your cadence), a signed BAA for regulated data, team workspaces with per-workspace access control, and priority support. Same API, same key model — with terms built around how your organization actually buys.

  • Custom volume pricing
  • Net-30 / net-60 invoicing (card or ACH)
  • Signed BAA for regulated workloads
  • Team workspaces & access control

FAQ

Pricing questions

What do I get for free?

Twenty-five searches against the live national dataset — all 58 US registries, every state, DC and the territories — with no card and no sales call. Trial searches include a name (first or last) and return up to 50 records each. Everything else is identical to a paid key: the same schema, the same match scoring, the same per-source provenance. You are not evaluating a sandbox.

Why is this the best value?

Because the price you see is the price you pay. $0.15 a call, dropping to $0.11 past 2,000 a month, with no setup fee, no per-seat license, no monthly minimum and no annual contract — and a genuinely free trial that is the full API, not a crippled sample. A single call searches all 58 US registries and returns scored, source-cited results, so you are not paying a platform fee for a feature you then have to assemble yourself.

Why does the trial need a name in the query?

Because the trial is for looking someone up, not for downloading the database. A name is what every real evaluation has and what a bulk extractor does not want to be limited to. Searching by age, city, ZIP or state alone is available the moment a payment method is on file.

What happens when the trial runs out?

Your key keeps working the moment you add a payment method — the same key, the same code, no migration. Until then calls return a 402 telling you exactly that. Nothing is deleted and nothing expires.

How does the per-call pricing work?

Every API call is $0.15. Once you pass 2,000 calls in a calendar month, every additional call that month is billed at the graduated rate of $0.11. A Regular search is billed at that base rate. Live re-verification adds $0.02 per completed source, capped at $2.00 per search, and each verification PDF adds $0.02.

Does Criminal Search cost extra?

No. One price covers both products. A criminal search is billed exactly like a registry search — the same $0.15 per call, the same $0.11 graduated rate past 2,000 calls a month, the same $0.02 per completed live source under the same $2.00 ceiling, and each row of a batch billed as one call. It runs on the same account and the same key rather than a separate credential or a second contract, so adding it needs no migration and no new commercial agreement.

How is a batch of searches billed?

Per search, not per request. A batch (POST /v1/batch) is one HTTP request but contains many searches, and each search in it is billed as one search — a batch of 100 = 100 metered calls, each at the graduated per-call rate. A batch runs in Regular mode against the continuously-updated corpus, so there is no per-source live charge; live re-verification is not offered in a batch.

What does an Enterprise plan add?

Custom volume pricing below the published rates, custom net terms (net-30, net-60 or another cadence), a signed BAA for regulated workloads, team workspaces with per-workspace access control, and priority support. If you are screening at volume or have procurement and compliance requirements, talk to sales and we will build terms around them.

When am I charged?

Usage is metered and charged at the end of each month by default. Enterprise customers can request custom net terms (net-30, net-60, or any cadence) — contact sales.
